So the University of Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh is looking really good. The rent in the area is affordable assuming I can find a job. Also, it's only 9 hours from Boston. Which isn't really that far considering that I now live 16 or so hours from Boston. Yes...it would suck...but I'll have an apartment in grad school and this makes it do-able for visiting. Add to this the fact that their program looks REALLY awesome...meaning I have checked out their site quite a few times and keep coming back to geek over it. This is such a complicated decision but this, University of Michigan or [livejournal.com profile] joecoustic's school really seem to be the best options I've come across thus far. Either way, I need to buy a car in the next two years. But this place seems more doable than the last.

The Pittsburg area has really good public transportation. I have relatives in the Pitt. area so I've been there some, although not much in the city. I know of at least one person (offspring of a co-worker) who went to school for 4 years in Pitt. and didn't have a car. If you don't mind the Greyhound, it is possible.

And, Pittsburg is only 4 hrs from Columbus via bus and less than that via car. :-)

*hugs*
