I went to see this movie last night with H. It was not a bad movie. As a matter of fact, it was a very good movie that was well-thought out and perfectly achieved the loathing of Bush that Moore was seeking. It was not, however, the thing that I wanted to see or deal with on a Monday night that was just supposed to be us going out for a night of relaxation. I left the theater in tears. It was just too much for me in many ways. Movies that have a focus on soldiers in any way shape or form all effect me more than the people I usually go to the movies with. There were a few people in the documentary that reminded me of my family and so it was very intense for me. Parts of it will give me nightmares I'm sure.

Yes, I feel bad that I didn't warn you when we talked Saturday morning, either. Especially because I remember thinking during the movie that it was harrowing enough for me, with no friends or close family in even the Canadian military (my cousin's husband Bill is in the US Army, but I've met Bill basically once, so even though he seems like a nice guy he is a bit an abstraction to me), and wondering what it would be like for you. My apologies.
