Today kidlet woke up late with a strange rash all over her. So off to the "emergency" room in Heidelberg. Did I mention the clinic here in Mannheim is useless? Can't call and get a same-day appointment. I hate them. Anyway, she checked out fine. I had a great German doctor who examined her and gave me good advice. She wrote down the names of some German products that are better than American products for whatever skin ailments a baby manages to contract. Reports on these will be forthcoming.
I had a wonderful lunch of half a chicken breast browned with seasonings, green beans sauted to perfection with mushrooms and onions, and celery. It was fabulous. I made a tasty tuna mac for dinner. Overall, healthy eating all around.
I called and found out about the next La Leche League meeting in my area. Everyone wish me luck. It's a German-speaking meeting. I have to take the train there and meet up with women. Thank goodness I took German in college but I have no idea how well I will do. I am endeavoring to be brave. It is next Tuesday.
Friday is my post-partum check up. Here's hoping the nether regions are doing what they are supposed to be. I am going to a Pampered Chef party on Thursday night. I'm hoping to order Mom's Mother's Day present there.
Speaking of Mother's Day, I bought a card for my mother-in-law. I know. I'm fantastic and amazing. They didn't have one that said what I really want it to say, so I bought a polite one. I got a money order for the card today so that her and her husband can go out to dinner together. Now I just have to figure out what their address is.
