Why Lamaze Frustrates Me...

So I had my first lamaze class. It was frustrating for many reasons. And I'm sitting here trying to read the book for the class and I think I just saw what frustrates the crap out of me. I'm frustrated that all of these books and tapes and such keep telling me that I have so many choices and I just don't feel like that is very realistic. We went over the stuff there is and is not in Heidelberg. And we still haven't even touched on who it is that actually delivers the baby. *blah* And I just want to scream about it all. Not to mention watching a video of a woman give birth to an 8lb baby with a giant pumpkin head the first class I was there. And I mean it was HUGE. Maybe I'm just a scaredy cat.

This is why I never did Lamaze. They are the worst and don't really prepare you for the birth. It helps you to embrace all possible aspects of birth. Lamaze make you feel like a failure if you have anything less then the "perfect" birth. Even today. And you never show a look at this beautiful birth, just ignore all the other crap you'll be fine" attitude"

And honestly honey if you are alive and ok and the baby is then it was perfect!

( not that I am annoyed that them ...nahhhh...) I don't think they should ever show a birth video the first day. you need to gage how everyone in the class is handling upcoming event. ease them into it.
