The Netherlands

We went on another USO trip today. It was fun. We went to the Netherlands and to a giant flea market. Honestly, it was a bit of a weird concept for a USO trip. But I bought an outfit for the Christmas Ball coming up. I managed to find something European in my size!!! Who would have thought of that. I also found a fantastic diaper bag that doesn't look like a diaper bag but has tons of pockets and room. I got a scarf that is gorgeous for my aunt for Christmas/Yule. I got a new poncho too! It's black with a purple and white pattern in it. It's gorgeous and very soft!! We got Mom some pistachios and some shower gel for her to send downrange to Black. And I got to see a windmill! Rock. Overall, it was a good time despite getting to see zero of the country other than the flea market and that we stayed at the flea market roughly three hours too long. I was amused because I kept asking the people speaking Dutch if they spoke English in German. Guess that question is hardwired? *grins*

When Will and I went to Denmark to get married, I practiced asking, "Do you speak English" in Danish, over and over, and when I finally needed to use it, I said, "Sprekken zie Deutsche?"

The cute boy smiled at me and said, "Yes. And German too!" LOL

Sounds like it was a fun outing - I did a similar one to the Czech Republic.
