Let's see. I'm not sure there's much for me to update on really. I'm going to be applying for a job here in the next few days. I'm not sure how well that will go, but I'm hoping it will go well. There's a position available in an IT company over here that I qualify for in a relatively limited market. I'm sincerely hoping it works out as I really need to get something outside the house.
I've been having some trouble getting my cell phone contract cancelled. Hopefully that will be taken care of now as I was smart enough to get parcel tracking on the package that I used to mail my phone back to the company. Realistically, this is so much hassle that I don't know if I'll be getting a cell phone when I get back to the states. We have a cell phone here, but we hardly ever use it. This is largely because it is *insanely* expensive to call out from. We've been using phone cards to call the states and that hasn't been so bad. So far, we've only called my parents but I have a few other calls to make that I'm going to try for today. It's hard to remember that the time difference is so big. It makes me nervous to call other people because they might be more upset than my mom if I accidentally call them at 4am *grin*.
Oh. Other news.
elvnsword is going to be deploying next year. It is looking to be an 8 month to a year. We don't know for sure when he's going but it is looking like next summer. We're just trying to enjoy all the time that we have together right now and not miss out on the good times because we are sad. It is so different to really have a time frame than to think that it might someday happen. So far, I think he's pretty ok. I'm the one that is the nervous wreck about it.
It looks like we may be doing Yule on our own this year. We had been talking about going to spend the holidays with my brother and sister-in-law but they want to rent a cabin and go snowboarding. For one, we can't really afford that. For two, I hurt my ankle a week ago and it has still been giving me problems. I think snowboarding will really be too rough for it. We'll probably invite some of the single soldiers who aren't going home or who are new over and have a dinner and stuff.
