Crazy Dizziness and the Mother Baby Unit
Feb. 26th, 2008 06:54 pmSo I woke up at 4am this morning because the world was suddenly spinning out of control. I was feeling like I was going to fall off the world. That's always one of my favorite feelings...I tried to keep sleeping throughout the morning despite waking up for roughly two hours and killing time. I called once the clinic opened and was told that from now on, no matter what is wrong with me, I'm to go to the Heidelberg Mother Baby Unit. As in if I stub my toe, I go to the MBU. I find it hilarious and more than a slight pain in the ass. Mom got up with me and took me to the hospital. She navigated like a pro! Then, once I got into the MBU they monitored the baby and me for about an hour. I was even having contractions! They weren't very strong, but I now know for sure that I can recognize contractions. They determined that it was most likely dehydration or a drop in blood sugar after checking my ears, testing my urine and my blood. So I have been eating, taking it easy, sleeping and drinking gatorade. The dizziness is not completely gone. But I do feel a lot better...no feeling of being underwater. I just have to be careful with how I'm laying down and how fast I turn my head. I've been having some puffiness too, but no signs of pre-eclampsia. No protein in my urine and my blood pressure is staying around 135/75. Not the best, but definitely better than it could be.
