Medical Blah
Mar. 5th, 2007 10:29 amSo Friday I had my Well Woman Check up. It went...poorly. The exam itself took minutes but the doctor was rather disconcerting. She told me I would likely have trouble getting pregnant as my canal is "so long." I asked her for a prescription for Welbutrin again as I'm attempting to scale huge mountain of crap and not succeeding. She told me the only way she could prescibe that was if I made an appointment with a social worker first. The social worker would then refer me to psychiatry if that was "appropriate" and the psychologist could recommend prescribing the Welbutrin. The earliest I could make an appointment for was the 12th. There's no telling what will happen or how long it will take.
Additionally, I asked to get my cholesterol screened and to get tested for Lupus. I had to fast for 12 hours first and go in for the blood draw this morning. Well, the doctor didn't give me the correct fasting hours so it was rather lucky that I managed to do it right in the first place. Then, they couldn't draw my blood. They can't take it out of the back of my hand for the Lupus test because of tissue contamination. They stuck me three times then sent me home. They asked that I drink a lot of water and try again tomorrow. *sigh* So now my forearms are both sore and stiff. Blah.
