And so my LJ entry thingie works again (I was having issues getting it to stop looking for the server even though I told it not to...). Today is the second day of class. I have finished all my reading and all my homework. I've also eaten breakfast *smiles*. Today is the lab day. We are supposed to be studying dendrochronology (the study of dating using tree rings) today. I don't really understand how it can be accurate at all so I have a ton of questions to ask. I need to run away and try to print my paper though and pick up a lab notebook...I had forgotten I needed one and I have forty minutes until class.

You sound happy. I like that! Everyone sends hugs for sadness, but I think cheerfulness deserves them at least as much.

Hugs!

*hugs back* Thanks for the encouragement!! Maybe hugs for cheerfulness will encourage more cheerfulness! We could start a movement the two of us....*grins*

The tree ring dating sounds really interesting! Sounds like you've gotten settled in for the month. Have fun!

It's pretty interesting. It's mostly used on medieval works (since they are mostly done on wood due to the types of paint available at the time) and any work done on a panel. It seems rather if-y to me though because it can only be used when certain prerequisites are met (like the panel of the painting has to have been cut radially from the trunk and have at least 100 rings). In fact, paintings on poplar can't be dated at all using this method. It's kinda cool but the history major in me winces at it just the same.

I have heard of the tree ring dating thing. I was taught the you can tell the age of a tree by its rings, but not how to count them exactly...
((hugs))
Happy B is a good thing! :)

*nods* Yeah, I love moving. There's something in me that completely enjoys the opportunity it represents. It gets my blood going and keeps me busy. I've also noticed that more personal space means I'm much more comfortable than normal.
