Well, we bought a car yesterday. Perhaps I should say I as I am the one on the loan and all *squee*. It makes me feel like a grownup and all. We decided on a Honda Accord. It's gray and has black cloth interior. We thought that the best choice with the baby and all.

Our house is getting steadily cleaner. [livejournal.com profile] elvnsword has really been helping a lot around here and it's been so nice! Mom helped out with catching up on the laundry and I started using a new chore chart to help me get focused. [livejournal.com profile] elvnsword has been buying me flowers regularly and it's been a beautiful addition to our dining room table.

I need to write some about the Pagan deaconry program I've been working on. I was really expecting that it was going to be really supportive and interactive. Maybe I had too high of standards for a distance learning program. Frankly, the website touts that each applicant has an individual mentor who works with them on the program. I was started out on exercises that were extremely elementary. As such, I've had a hard time staying interested and focusing on the assignments as well as justifying taking the time for it from the rest of my day and taking that time away from my child and husband. I think that if I had been interviewed even slightly, they would have aimed me at materials that is more suited to what I need. These materials are poorly written and the editing is sadly lacking. They aren't completed either. I'm sorry, but you don't start teaching people with materials that aren't finished. It is not ok to start someone's training with "beta" materials that are missing entire portions of explanations. I realize that this is two distinctly different rants but together, they produced a situation where I am frustrated enough to quit. *sighs* Maybe some of it is the timing, but I really don't think so. Overall, I retract any recommendation I may have made about this program to others.

If you are seriously considering a pastoral role as a Pagan, I recommend Cherry Hill Seminary. They're the real thing.

Congrats on the new wheels- and I am glad that you and your hubby have settled down. I was a bit worried there for a bit.
