If this is about who I suspect it may be about, the gent in question's badpoints have historically gone like thus: self-focused, pedantic, hyper-focused (to the exclusion of other things), 'unwilling/able to do their share of the work that is the day-to-day running of a household', and low-to-non-existant communication skills (which have been steadily improving over the years, much to his credit).
There are many a folk known to be in your world who have an even less stellar opinion of the gent I have in mind, but they have even less reason to hold their opinions than I have to hold mine. And even mine is only one view, and certainly not all there is to see of him.
But I will say that he does learn, that he has put effort into becoming a better person, and that he has many good points that do certainly recommend him: he's kind, generally trustyworthy, fun, silly, intelligent, wise, stable, and sarcastic (in a good way).
So, whatever you're hearing about him that isn't from me (or more to the point, from him) is probably just a load of uneducated tripe.
Of course, you could mean someone else entirly :) In which case, just ignore all that above. -H...(who says what she says here asumming he will read it, and believing it's all things she's said to him before, and so are not secrets from him)
