I got my new laptop from the college today. It is wonderful. It's a Dell D600 so drool if you want to. It makes me happy because it's all shiny and fast and stuff. Of course I've already put the three programs I actually use onto it and stuff. Also I got the room I wanted for next year in room selection. *does the happy dance* Also I talked to the head of the Women's Studies department and told her that I don't much care for the material we've been reading and that because of that I have no interest in receiving the major. I explained that my needs for scholarship makes it difficult for me to deal with materials that are "original ideas" that have no bibliography to build upon. She took it remarkably well and told me to let her know about the readings I do this summer on feminism.

maedbh7, do you think I could borrow some stuff and be pointed in the right direction? I really would like to send her better book titles and such as she honestly respects me as a person and considers me highly intelligent as well as a very large addition to her class. You could have knocked me over with a feather when she told me that. Anyway, I have to read Gerda Lerner's The Creation of Patriarchy.
