So I have not been faithful in writing in my blog like I was when I went to Cincinnati. The problem is getting time to be on the computer without everyone else reading my screen over my shoulder.
Anyways, it has gotten significantly better. I got to open my Christmas presents yesterday which was great. DVD player, rice cooker, blender, sewing machine....and a new stereo!!! I was shocked beyond belief to see all of this stuff. I normally end up with the shorter end of the stick when it comes to electronic gifts but I seem to have racked up on domesticated gifts. *grins* Although I did ask for the sewing machine and the blender will be used for....*grins* well, my mother is a bartender you guys.
We all made a concerted effort to get along while my grandparents were here. I love them to death but sometimes they just don't understand my family. We are just a bunch of liberal people. (I have trained them all so well *grins*) And so we managed to avoid any discussions about the nature of my relationships, gay rights, and the fact that I am sexually active. I did get asked about my classes...but didn't get the third degree. And my grandparents have decided to reserve judgement on
xuth until he has shown beyond a doubt he is not an ass. Of course that has nothing to do with him and entirely everything to do with the fact that every other guy I've ever dated has ended up that way. *smiles* Although he is nothing like any of them.
I am going to see ROTK today because I made my brother promise to go with me. It's hard to find things for us to do together because he is so busy being a senior in high school and hanging out with all of his friends that he doesn't really have time for me much. I love him though and he loves me so we do try to hang out. We are just totally different people. He is not going Special Forces!!! Turns out he's colorblind so he can't go. Instead he's an Aviation Operations Specialist. Less danger, still need security clearance. I'm happy for him. And it will help me sleep a little better at night.
