Haven't Posted Lately...

So the baby can now smile reliably. She like to smile when I get ready to breastfeed her. She also smiles at me when she first wakes up in the morning. I swear, she has the most awesome smile ever. I haven't managed to get a picture of it, but when I do, I'll post it.

I'm largely doing ok. I have bursts of good and bursts of bad. I had a very rough Friday night. I went to gaming and one of the guys there was an asshat. PSA: If you don't have something nice to say about how a new mom looks, just keep your freakin' mouth shut! I mean...really?!? *sighs* So there was the subsequent fallout from that. Then I get home to find out I missed a call from elvnsword. It was not the best night.

Yesterday I went downtown with Sarah and her friend that is visiting. We tried a new cafe and walked around the market square. It was nice. Sometimes I need to get out of the house and hang out with people who aren't my mom ya know? elvnsword called in the evening and we got to talk for a few minutes. It really cheered me up. Then I hung out with the baby and we went to bed early. I read for an hour or so in bed then passed out.

Today I woke up feeling fantastic. I've stripped and largely re-made the bed. I've washed two other loads of laundry. I've folded some laundry and cleaned up some of the floor in the cesspit that my bedroom is currently disguised as. I made lunch and have just kinda relaxed today. I'm experimenting with using my German-style baby wrap so that I can get proficient enough with it to wear it out in public. It does give me more of my hands so that I can do other stuff better than the baby sling does.

I wish I could deal with the down swings better than I have been. Mom says that I'm going through some of the stuff that every mom goes through after she has a baby. That makes me feel better but still, not great.
