Procrastination and Flashbacks
Jan. 16th, 2005 07:00 pmI've pretty much done nothing for the powerpoint presentation I have to email to my professor by 9:30am tomorrow. Nor have I written the one page movie review due tomorrow. Nor have I gone to check my mail. I suppose I really should do all of these things but I did something I probably should not have done...*sighs* I downloaded a computer game I used to play hardcore in high school that I never beat. I'm now going through it piece by piece trying to beat it now. I really should get out of my room for the 15 or so minutes it will take to check my mail. The drive back to school was really not stressful. Next weekend I'm going down to my grandparents and I'm really looking forward to that. Also, I'll be packing up my room next Monday...I'm checking out Tuesday. Hopefully Tuesday morning so I can just head out straight from class. I'm so ready for everything to be over and to be back in my normal world. It's been really nice staying with my parents but I need private space and friends.
Something else of note....it appears that my father is getting deployed again to Iraq. It is looking like he'll be leaving in the September-October time frame and gone for a year. This means that my dad is going to miss my college graduation...my brother is also going to probably be in Iraq at the same time. *cries* I'm really not sure how to deal with that. My mom is going to be the only person from my family able to come to my graduation because I have a cousin that graduates that same week in New Mexico and so the rest of the family will be there.
*sighs* My mom and I were also talking about the things I will need in Pittsburgh to make my apartment liveable. The list is not as long as you might think because I've been steadily aquiring things in preparation for having my own apartment. It looks like my parents are going to give me a futon for my birthday and a full-size bed for Christmas or graduation. That will make life so much easier. It was good to be able to talk and plan with someone who does that too. I love my mom.
