Elderly

I hate when people talk about the elderly as if they are incapable of understanding. A woman brought her father into the archives today and then proceeded to talk about him as if he wasn't there and couldn't understand that she was telling me he gets too tired to do things like research and so he would just sit there and not do anything....I hate the way that we treat our elderly in this country. A little respect for him would have painted her in an entirely different light. The scary part for me is that I know someday I'll be in similar shoes...
