New Experiment

I'm going to try and add emphasis to some of my written communication. I'm really not sure how this will work out. In general, I do try to italicize those words I think should have a different emphasis than would normally be assumed. At what point does the emphasis become useless in it's main purpose (clarification of thought) and truly just become a nuisance and add to the confusion? I suppose I will find it at some point and then I'll re-evaluate. But experimentation is fun!

There's a style of "trolling" on internet forums and blogs that involves over-emphasizing, especially parts of sentences that you wouldn't expect to have emphasized, to "strengthen" facetious arguments. Sort of a straw-man argument technique. I'd say, if it goes far enough to look like that, you've done too much ;)
